On Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at the age of 91, Marvin C. Zeid’s soul passed on. Marvin was born on March 15, 1930 in Chicago, IL to Louis and Vera (Lipschultz) Zeid. He graduated from University of Missouri-Rolla School of Mines in 1951 with a Bachelor of Science in Mining-Petroleum Engineering. He was stationed in Germany with the Army during the Korean War. Upon returning to the US, he embarked on a long and storied career in the Oil & Gas Industry in Houston, TX. There he met and married the love of his life, Barbara Belle Warman, on April 2, 1955
Marvin received many accolades in his career. Most notably related to the formation of his own company, MCZ Inc, and the Bryan Woodbine field discovery. He loved running, dancing, playing tennis with his wife, walking his dogs, playing with grandchildren and traveling. Known for his quick wit, silly jokes and compassionate spirit, Marvin was larger than life. He loved to captivate a room with his story telling. Marvin loved the Lord reflecting this through loving everyone he met.
Marvin was preceded in death by his loving wife, Barbara, his oldest son, Russell, his brother Sidney Zeid, his sister, Phyliss Rosenbaum and his parents. He is survived by his daughter Linda Deere, his son, Randy Zeid, and his daughter-in-law Dana Zeid and their families.
