Martha was born in Fairmont, West Virginia. She grew up in Fairmont, West Virginia, Jamestown, New York and Little Rock, Arkansas. She graduated from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology with a specialization in Bacteriology. She started her career as a medical technologist in Tulsa, Oklahoma and also worked in the field at Rosewood Hospital in Houston. Martha was a member of Chapelwood United Methodist Church where she taught two-year-old Sunday school and was a communion steward. She was a dedicated Scout leader and enjoyed gardening and spending time with family and friends.
Martha is survived by her husband, Jerry McCall Speers; her daughter, Amy Evans and husband Rick; son, Michael Speers and wife Renee; grandchildren: Jeff Evans, his wife Erin and their son Tucker Evans, David Evans and fiancée Jocelyn, Ian Speers, Sean Speers and Alex Speers. She leaves two brothers, Louis and Jack, and their families who also loved and respected Martha very much.
Martha’s life will be celebrated by family and friends, and her memory will live on always.
