Martha Donderlene Rowland, born March 30, 1929 to Ernest and Myrtle McPherson in Fort Bend County, Texas, passed away July 4, 2013 in Houston, Texas. Martha was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Correnna Davis, Thelma Pali, and Ernest Gordon McPherson Jr. She is survived by daughter, Pamela T. Rowland; son, Roy J. Rowland, Jr. and wife, Michelle; grandson, Ryan Rowland; sisters, Dora Horak, Loretta Marshall, and Patsy Erlandson and husband, Jay; brother, Douglas McPherson, and by numerous nieces, nephews, and other family.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 8, 2013 in the Chapel of Heights Funeral Home, where the funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Fairbanks Cemetery, Houston, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations in Martha’s name may be made to Autism Speaks at www.autismspeaks.org in honor of her grandson.
