Marsha Hill, age 46, of Houston, passed away Wednesday, the 24th of February, 2010 of a sudden illness. Marsha attended Stratford Senior High School in west Houston where she earned co-valedictorian honors. She also spent a year of her high school as an exchange student in Finland. She was a graduate and proud alumna of Rice University where she studied Geophysics. Marsha’s career focused on environmental work in Houston. She rose to the position of Regional Director of the Houston Office of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
Marsha is survived by her beloved partner of 19 years, Lisetta Lavy; her parents, Julia and Dexter Hill; her sister, Rachel Deskin and husband, Bruce; her brother, Blake Hill and wife, Shea, and niece and nephews, Thomas, Matthew, Kathleen, and Dexter. In addition to the immediate family mentioned, Marsha was loved by many extended family members and friends.
A memorial service and celebration of Marsha’s life will be held at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 28, 2010. Following the service all are invited to greet the family and share stories in the fellowship hall.
