Marjorie graduated from Ball High School and went on to be an Executive Secretary for Southern Pacific Railroad and Nationwide Papers, Inc. She was a member of Sagemont Church and had a passion for singing in her church choir and spending time with her family.
Marjorie is preceded in death by her parents; Hepolete and Minnie Perthuis, her siblings; Robert Perthuis, Ethel Perthuis Thigpen, and Alfred Perthuis, her son; Don Miller and two grandchildren; Don Miller, Jr. and Aubree Lynne Knouse. She is survived by her daughter, Dana Knouse (Tom), daughter in law; Judy Miller and dear friend; Ray McIntosh. Her grandchildren; Christina Kuykendall Thorne, Jill Knouse White, Paul Bryan Miller, Lauren Miller Cahoon (Jim), Paige Knouse Murray (Daniel) and great-grandchildren; Houston and Nora White, Julian Cahoon, Seth Miller, and Luke Murray.
Family will begin receiving friends on Friday, December 6, 2019 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023. A funeral service will begin Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 9:00 AM with Minister Rex Forsythe officiating. Granddaughter, Jill Knouse and Nephew, Rick Thigpen will be the soloist for Marjorie's Services. Granddaughter, Paige Murray and Grandson, Paul Miller will be speaking. Ethel Thigpen will be the pianist for the service. The interment will follow in Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
The family would like to offer a special thanks for all the prayers they've received and for the doctor's and nurses at Bay Area Medical Resort that took such special care of Marjorie.
