Marina Ramirez, 49, passed away at her home on Mother’s Day, May 9th, 2021 surrounded by her loving husband and son. Marina was born on the 5th of July 1971 in Houston, TX to Raymond and Guadalupe Ramirez. She was a graduate of MacArthur High School and had a successful career with AT&T and the Harris County Appraisal District. She married Arthur Ramirez on the evening of February 12, 2016 in a small intimate ceremony with her stepdaughters serving as bridesmaids. She would jokingly let you know she had planned well by marrying someone with the same last name as she did not having to worry about updating any of her records with a name change.
Marina’s first joy was her four-year-old son, Edward Ray Ramirez followed by her passion for cooking and dancing with her family and friends. Her stepdaughters always felt love from her and appreciated the love and attention she would show them. Friends always knew a good time was about to be had when gathering with Marina over a good meal or refreshing beverage.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur; son, Edward; stepdaughters, Alexis, Emily, Isabelle, and Angelina; sister Norma (Frank) Cardenas; brother, Ruben Ray Ramirez; sister, Raydina (Jorge) Cavazos; father-in-law, Arthur Ramirez; mother-in-law, Lydia Ramirez; sister-in-laws Lisa Forero, Angela (Perley) McBride, and, Andrea (Tom) Cline as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Guadalupe Ramirez.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 16th beginning at 5:30 pm at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston TX 77039. Funeral Service will be held on May 17, 2021 at 2:30 pm also at Brookside Funeral Home. The committal service will follow at Brookside Memorial Park.
