Marianne Armand Pearce

Marianne Armand Pearce 79, of Houston, went home to Jesus September 11, 2021. Marianne was born July 1, 1942, in Port Arthur Texas to August and Ruth Meier. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Richard Meier, her grandson Clayton Whittington, and Great Grandson Grayson Davis. She is survived by her daughter Alison Whittington, her brothers William & Steve Meier, her granddaughters Danielle Davis & Rebecca Whittington, her great granddaughters Addyson, Harper, Paisley, and Evelynn as well as her name’s sake Marianne & nephew Chilly Meier.

Marianne grew up in Port Arthur, where she attended Thomas Jefferson High School and graduated from Lamar University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. Marianne spent 38 years in the public school system working with grade school and special needs children. She was dedicated to her students and loved her work, but her heart was set on adventure.

Marianne enjoyed international travel, social gatherings, and people in general. She never met a stranger and was quick to welcome newcomers. She was a long-time member of the Space City Ski & Adventure Club, was an active member on the Hospitality Committee for the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo, a longtime member of Les Tres Gentilles , she participated in many other social clubs and groups as well. Her curiosity and lack of hesitation gave her a zest for life. Her effervescent and welcoming personality made her a friend to all!
