Maria was born to Santana G. Villarreal and Catalina G. Villarreal, July 5, 1925, in Matamoros, Tamps., MX. She married Guadalupe Olivares on July 6, 1947. Together they raised four children.
She is survived by her children: Yolanda Zaccaro and Edward Olivares, Spouse Ana G. Olivares. She also leaves to cherish her memory her sister Maria De Los Angeles Villarreal Sosa, nieces and nephews: Samuel Sosa, Sergio Sosa, Sylvia Sosa, Servando Sosa, Salvador Sosa, Sonia Sosa and Selma Sosa, Manuel Cortinas, and Maria (Bertha) Cortinas. Maria had seven grandchildren, Ursula Velvin, Jimmy Zarate, Jarrete Zarate, Mario Zaccaro, Marisa Garza, Lisa Dean, Denise Perlinger. She had 11 great grandchildren, Liv Velvin, Lance Velvin, Zoey Zarate, Jimmy Nathan Zarate, Amri Zarate, David Zarate, Aiden Laurence, Ryan Dean, Reagan Dean, Ava Perlinger, Mason Perlinger.
She was preceded in death by Guadalupe Olivares (husband), Irma Zarate (daughter), Olga Garza (daughter), Manuel Villareal (brother), Ramona Duran (sister) and Josephina Sanchez (sister)
Maria was the owner of El Regional Night Club along with her husband for 30 years. She enjoyed family gatherings and had a passion for business and loved her independence. She also loved funny jokes and poetry. Maria was a kind and generous to all her family and friends.
A Memorial Service is scheduled for February 22, 2023, from 5 pm to 9 pm at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery and Funeral Home. A final viewing will be on February 23, 2023 from 12pm to 1pm. Burial will follow starting at 1pm at Forest Park Lawndale. Pastor Lorenzo Gallegos will officiate the ceremony. The family would also like to thank Pastor Lorenzo Gallegos and all family members and friends attending.
