Margie Johnson graced the earth with her beautiful presence in the year of 1933, on December 18. She was born in Waskom, Texas, to the late Curtis Fields and Marietta Ragland. She received a portion of her education in Waskom, and after the family moved to Shreveport, Louisiana; she attended and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School, Class of 1955.
With the blessing of having been raised in a loving, Christian home, Margie dedicated her life to Christ at an early age. She united in marriage to Roosevelt Johnson in 1956, and in 1962, the family relocated to Houston, Texas. In 1969, her spiritual journey led her to Greater Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Emerson Butler, where she was a member of the Senior Choir and Mission. She later united with New Bethel Baptist Worship Experience in 1986, under the leadership of Reverend Caleb B. Anderson, where she served on the Pastor’s Aide and Women of Wisdom.
In addition to being a wife and a mother of four, Margie also did days of work for over forty years. She really enjoyed and looked forward to spending quality time with her family, whether it was a simple gathering of special occasion. The impact that she made on the lives she knew and loved will last for a lifetime, along with her shared love for the Lord. She will be greatly missed and forever cherished.
On August 7, 2022, Margie’s physical presence was requested by The Lord to start her new life in Christ.
