Margarita C. Garcia

Margarita C. Garcia of Houston, passed away on June 22,2021 peacefully surrounded by her loved ones, at the age of 86. Margarita was a kind and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, godmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was strong, dedicated and hardworking. For many years she worked at The Medical Arts Building, The Hyatt Regency Hotel and Foleys. She loved dancing her “dingo, dingo, dingo, dingo, dingo dee” in the kitchen while making the best pecan candy. She was loved by many. Her best friend was her sister Bertha and they were inseparable until her health declined.

She is reunited in heaven with her parents: Flaviano Covarrubias and Paula Sanchez; and siblings: Minerva Delgado, Maria Sanchez, Miguel Covarrubias, Ricardo Covarrubias, Bertha Zapata and brother-in-law Juan T. Zapata.

Margarita is survived and missed by her two children: Steve Garcia Sr. and Veronica G. Huerta and husband Eugene Huerta Jr.; her six grandchildren: Steve Garcia Jr. and wife Jannelle Ledesma, Amina Marie Garcia, Isaiah Garcia and wife Marissa Lopez, Xavier Garcia and wife Valerie Garcia. Samantha Huerta and John Carlton and Sebastian Huerta. Great grandchildren; Tristan Garcia, Maya Rose Garcia, Jayden Garcia, Kassidy Garcia and Cataleya Garcia, who brought great joy to her in later years; Beloved nieces Susanna Martinez, Mary Alice Rosales and Beatrice Jean. Beloved nephews Juan Zapata Jr., Albert Zapata and Henry Zapata as well as many of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on June 30th, 2021 from 3-8 pm. A rosary will be held at 6 pm at Funeraria Del Angel Crespo, 2516 Navigation Blvd, Houston TX 77003. A funeral mass will be held July 1st,2021 at 10 am St Patrick's Church at 4918 Cochran St Houston, TX 77009. Interment will follow at Historic Hollywood Cemetery.
