Manuel Sosa, Jr.

A celebration of life for Manuel will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wed. July 1, 2015, at Forest Park Funeral Home and Cemetery on Westheimer Rd. The funeral will be Thursday, July 2, at 10:00 a.m.

Manuel was born in Houston, TX, on October 18, 1939, to Manuel and Olivia Sosa. He married Hortensia Silva Sosa in 1967.

Manuel worked for the City of Houston, Library Dept. for 16 years. Prior to that he did paint and body work for Borden Dairy and different auto dealers, in the Houston area. He was a member of Lakewood Church for 31 years and passionate in serving in the Life Group Ministry for more than 10 years. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and travelling throughout the USA and Israel, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Spain and Mexico.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Manuel D. Sosa and Olivia Gutierrez Sosa. Manuel is survived by his wife, Hortensia Silva Sosa, of 47 years, also brothers and sisters: Alex and Yolanda Sosa, Olivia Ramirez, Rev. David and Bertha Sosa, Rev. Joe and Ruby Sosa, Esther Sosa, Keith and Alice Jeffers, and numerous nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.
