Lurline Ann Sargent, 80, of Houston, Texas, died in Houston on November 8, 2023. She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, in 1943 to Anthony Graffagnino and Lurline Allain Graffagnino. She attended Newcomb College at Tulane University, majoring in Political Science. After graduation, she traveled to Europe, where she met and married Malcolm Sargent. Lurline and Malcolm had one daughter, Nicole Allain Sargent, in 1966.
In 2006, a year after Hurricane Katrina, Lurline moved from New Orleans to Houston, where she resided for the rest of her life in Houston’s Oak Forest neighborhood.
Lurline had a soft spot for furry friends, and she gave generously to the ASPCA and other animal rescue groups. She was preceded in death by her beloved cat, Bunny.
She is survived by her daughter, Nicole Sargent Edmundson, and her son-in-law, John Edmundson. The family asks that you consider making a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association in her honor.
