Lupe Garza, 87, of Houston, Texas passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2019. He was born October 9, 1932 in Goliad, Texas. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. His grandchildren were his entire world and he was very proud of the young adults they have become. He was friendly to everyone, had an infectious smile, had a great sense of humor and enjoyed making people laugh. In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and loved watching old westerns. He was a member of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Carlos and Juanita Garza, Sr., two brothers, Daniel and Tomas Garza, and three sisters: Carmen Rivera, Maria Cordero, and Eva Garza.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Juanita Garza; his son George Garza of Houston; his daughter Gloria (Tom) Andrews of Humble, Texas; his grandchildren: Alex Garza, Katherine “Katie” Andrews and William “Will” Andrews; his great-granddaughter Madeline Sophia Garza; four sisters: Carolina (Phillip) Wilson, Maria Elena (Isidro) Galicia, Beatrice (Valdemar) Cavazos, Irene (Robert) Armendez; three brothers: Servando (Emma) Garza, Enrique (Hortencia) Garza, and Carlos (Terry) Garza, Jr. and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Rosary will be recited at 1:00pm, Friday, December 13, 2019. Funeral service and burial will follow beginning at 2:30pm at Brookside Funeral Home and Memorial Park and Cemetery, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039.
