Born: Feb. 17, 1918 Date of Death: May 23, 2015
Lucy passed away while residing at Brookdale Cypress Station Senior Living, in Houston, Texas.
After growing up as a farmer’s daughter, and attaining an eighth grade education in Trevat, Texas, she married Jack Gelon McClintock, in 1945. Then in 1947, she gave birth to her oldest son, Jimmy, at a neighboring town of Camden. The marriage didn’t provide the stability she wanted for raising her children, so she moved her family to Houston, where she had her second son, Larry in 1948. Being the strong woman she was, she took it upon herself to raise her sons, on her own. After trying her hand at a few different occupations, she settled into a career opportunity at Weingarten’s Grocery Stores as Deli Manager. She retired from Weingarten after 25 plus years.
Her primary focus during those years was to raise her two boys and helping to ensure that they had the tools needed to be successful individuals.
Lucy’s early retirement years enabled her to spend some time traveling with friends. She tremendously enjoyed participating in various events at the South Houston Senior Center for 20 plus years. Her main pass time at the Center was to play dominoes with friends. To hear others tell it, “she knew her Dominoes”. During her years at the Senior Center, she was recognized several times as Volunteer of the year for helping others in need.
Lucy was predeceased by her mother, Ethel Lee Boley, Oct.12, 1951; and her father, Homer Lee Boley, May 5, 1971. She was also predeceased by the following brothers and sisters:
