Lois Judith Shorr Konnos, 74, of Houston, Texas died peacefully April 4, 2016 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Born July 20, 1941 in Washington, DC to Edward and Freda Goodman Shorr. Lois was reared in Brooklyn, New York and lived in several states prior to becoming a Houston resident 35 years ago.
Lois had a successful career as President and CEO of Carnival Booking, Inc., the largest independent woman owned agency in the industry. Starting her career as a single mother, her deep love of the carnival made her the self-made businesswoman who generously shared her success with those less fortunate.
Her ability to laugh and brighten a room with a clever quip leaves humorous memories with indelible smiles on all of our hearts. Born in the Jewish faith, she converted to Christianity as an adult by accepting Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.
Lois was predeceased by her parents. Lois is survived by her son, Kevin Edward Connors. She will be missed by her many friends, business colleagues.
The family wishes to thank Houston Hospice, Advocates for the Independent, HealthSouth Sugar Land, Houston Methodist Hospital, Dr. Monisha Singh and Dr. Odette Arredondo for the excellent care during her recent illness.
Funeral services will be conducted at one o’clock in the afternoon, Thursday, April 14, 2016, at the Chapel of Eternal Peace at Forest Park, 2454 S Dairy Ashford, Houston, with burial following at Forest Park Westheimer.
