Linda Louise Melia, age 66, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 28, 2014. Linda was born in Arlington Heights, Illinois and was a wonderful woman, full of love and always put others before herself. She was a breast cancer survivor and was involved in Pink Ladies, an organization that made blankets for other cancer patients at MD Anderson, even after she found out she had brain cancer. She was on board for the W.O.W. organization in Walden and was on the Golf Board for Humble High School from 1997 - 2004. Linda loved playing golf and being a wonderful wife, mother, extraordinary grandmother, and friend. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer Behrens and Eleanor Undeutsch Behrens, as well as her daughter, Stephanee Ann Melia. She lovingly leaves behind her husband, Johnnie Melia, Jr.; sons and daughters, Kerri Rushing, John Melia, Dawn Melia, Chris Melia, and Brandon Melia; granddaughters and grandsons, Haley Rushing, Kevin Kitchen, Jennie Kitchen, Sophia Melia, and Levi Melia. She also leaves behind brothers, LeRoy Behrens and wife Brenda Behrens, Smithville, Texas, Richard Behrens and wife Rosann Behrens, Houston, Texas, Charles Behrens and wife Marla Behrens, Houston, Texas, and Dennis Behrens and wife Heidi Behrens, Houston, Texas. She was a member at Atascocita United Methodist Church, where she served as an usher even after she became sick. Visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, January 30, 2014 at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be 12:30 p.m., Friday, January 31, 2014, in the Chapel of Earthman Resthaven. Interment will follow at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery. There will be a reception to follow in the Earthman Resthaven Hospitality Room.
