Linda Darnell Hutchins was born July 9, 1942, in Greenville, MS, to Theodore and Auxilia Hutchins.
Linda began her education at Sacred Heart Catholic School, where she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She graduated from Coleman High School, in Greenville, and went on to attend nursing school at Mississippi Delta Junior College. She practiced nursing, at various hospitals and healthcare facilities, as an LVN, for over 30 years.
If you knew Linda, you know that she had a deep affinity for animals, and always had at least one fur baby in her home. And if you ever visited her home, you also know that she kept a clean house, filled with the smells of scented candles or dinner cooking on the stove. In addition to being a great cook, Linda was also a foodie. She had a particular love for fried crabs, ice cold cokes (or an occasional Piña Colada), and all things sweet. Linda was a creative spirit, and enjoyed hobbies such as knitting, cross stitching, and adult coloring. Linda also had quite the green thumb. She loved plants and trees, and often joked that she was going to find the biggest tree she could and build herself a treehouse. Linda had an infectious laugh, a love for dancing, and a wonderful sense of humor. After every conversation with her children, she would end it by saying, "Love You More."
She is lovingly survived by her daughters, Karen D. Albert (Steve), Michele Haddock (Ron), Keia Betts (Billy), and son, William Walton III; brothers Elliott Hutchins (Marjorie), Bobby Hutchins (Maryann); 11 grandchildren & 1 great grandchild. Linda is preceded in death by her son, Michael Walton; parents, Theodore and Auxilia Hutchins; brother, Danny Hutchins; nephew, Bud Hutchins; and nieces, Sonya Hutchins and Jennefer Doll. Linda's earthly presence will be deeply missed, but knowing she is no longer in pain, and present with the Lord, brings comfort.
