Lena Ann Benoit

Lena Ann (Ardoin) Benoit was born on September 19, 1931, in Lake Arthur, Louisiana to Adrien Ardoin and Margaret (LeGros) Ardoin. She was the sixth child of seven and the only girl. Lena was the only surviving sibling of her six brothers, Clyde Ardoin, Robert Ardoin, Sidney Ardoin, Harry Ardoin, Jessie Ardoin and Thomas Ardoin.

On September 23, 1950, Lena married the love of her life, Wilsie Joseph Benoit and they shared 51 years of marriage and had 3 children they devoted their lives to. She is survived by her children Kathryn (Benoit) Herring and husband David, William (Billy) Benoit and his wife Janine and Annette (Benoit) Anderson. Also, her grandchildren, Ashley Winstead and her husband Joey, Jennifer Herring, Danielle Benoit, Christopher Anderson, Michelle Anderson and her husband Calvin and Will Benoit and 6 great-grandchildren Troy Herring, Chloe Winstead, Hadley Winstead, Alina Pruitt, Natalie Anderson, and little Jack Anderson (who will arrive in May 2024).

She is preceded in death by her husband Wilsie and her son-in-law Kenton Anderson. Lena had a fierce love of family and loved unconditionally. She had a great love for children and worked in the Cy-Fair school district as a teacher aide and nurses aide for 8 years. Lena was devoted and beloved wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She will always be remembered as a kind and loving person who cherished her family and was loved by all who knew her.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 14, 2023, from 5:00pm – 8:00pm at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Frwy, Houston, Tx 77079 and Funeral Services will be celebrated Friday, December 15, 2023 at 10:00am at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, followed by interment at 2:00pm at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr., Houston, Tx 77038.
