Lee G. Stroud was born on May 12, 1932, to the late Jessie and Willie Ann Stroud in Benton, Louisiana. He was the 6th of 8 siblings. Lee was introduced to Christ at an early age. He attended Bossier Parish Training School and from there joined the United States Army on October 30, 1951. Lee was a soldier in the Korean War and presented with a Purple Heart Medal. He was honorably discharged from the service on July 29, 1953. Upon his return home from military service, he moved to Baton Rouge where he attended trade school to learn about sheet metal. His time in Baton Rouge was greatly blessed because he met his wife of 61 years, Eugenia Stroud there.
Lee became a member of Friendship Baptist Church. After Lee and Eugenia moved to Houston, they were blessed with 5 beautiful children. Lee became a member of Greater Jerusalem Baptist Church where he served as an usher and was a member of the Transportation Committee. He retired from his job at FMC after 26 years of service. After his retirement, he accomplished his dreams of owning horses and joined the KTG Riding club where he was the Honorary Wagon Boss. Trail riding and horses were truly a love of his. On Saturday, October 9, 2021, Lee went home to be with the Lord.
He is preceded in death by his parents Jessie and Willie Ann Stroud, his brothers, Walter, Emmett, Jessie Stroud Jr., Lonnie and sister Luella Stroud Francis, his son, George Earl Stroud, and his wife Eugenia Stroud. He is survived by his brother Otha Lee Stroud, 3 daughters Linda Shepherd (Mack), Barbara Brown (Kenneth), and Samantha Stroud and 1 son Willie Stroud; 8 grandchildren, Crystal and Stacie Brown, Tracey and Lauren Shepherd (Michael Donatto), Latisha Hodges (Walter) and George North, Cobie Moody and Destiny Stroud; 9 great grandchildren Walter, Serenity and Waltez (Latisha), Ziyan, Kassadi and Kennadi (Destiny) and Marlowe, Laurel and Mack M. Shepherd IV (Lauren).
