as a nurse-operating room manager, then nurse legal assistant and then hospital case reviewer, died on Nov. 25, 2017 after a period of illness.
She is cherished for her wit, great sense of fun, intelligence, loving loyalty and fierce advocacy. Though not a parent, Laura loved the role of deeply participating in the lives of her friends’ children.
Born in Norwalk CT, Laura grew up in St. Louis MO, graduated in nursing from Vanderbilt University,
and then moved to Houston with friends, where she was married for 10 years and stayed the rest of her life.
She is survived by her twin sister, Ann Gerow of Phoenix; her brothers, John May of St. Louis and David May of Portland; and scattered cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Philip May of Santa Fe and by her parents.
There will be a memorial gathering in Laura’s remembrance on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017, from 11 a.m. to 1p.m., at Earthman Funeral Home at Hunter’s Creek, 8303 Katy Freeway, Houston TX 77024.
