Larry W. Smith passed away June 17, 2013 at his home after a lengthy illness. Born on December 24, 1944 to Joseph Smith and Claire Pierre Smith in Mobile Alabama. He attended Little Flower Catholic High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he spent 4 years.
In 1970, he moved to Houston where he met his wife Linda Christopher Smith and were married for 43 years.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; children, Clifton Kochinsky, Felicia Richardson (Carl); grandchildren, Clifton Ray Kochinsky, Brandon Richardson, Ernesto Cortez and Xochitl Cortez; brother in law Joseph Christopher (Faye), brother in law Ricky Christopher; sister in law Rose Janie De’Rouen and several nieces and nephews.
When Larry moved to Houston, he worked as a Commercial X-ray Technician at Mobile Lab for 15 years. He then moved on to become a welder for U-Haul and later used that skill at Waste Management. Larry also was employed with Houston Continental Airport. He was recognized for many accomplishments and received many awards.
