Larry Allen Klabacka, age 55, of Cypress, Texas passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2023. Larry was born in Chico, California to parents Charles Richard Klaback and Joyce Marie Pearson who both preceded him in death.
Larry was the youngest of three boys: first born John Frank Klabacka - deceased, and second born Richard Clay Klabacka. He lived in California until the summer before his junior year in high school. That summer he moved to Pasadena, Texas with his mother and younger half brother, John Stuckey. Larry graduated from Sam Rayburn High School in 1987.
Larry worked as an automotive mechanic for fourteen years, working for Sears Auto Center for ten of those years. Then in 2003, he was given the opportunity to fulfill a childhood dream of driving an eighteen wheeler. He completed an on the job training program with Houston Distributing Company, and drove locally for four years. Larry was then hired on with Allied Concrete and drove a concrete mixer locally for nine years. In 2017, Arnold Transportation offered him a sign on bonus to drive tri-state OTR. It was not long after they hired him that he was offered a dedicated route. He had achieved his perfect position. Leaving Monday mornings and home by early Friday afternoons.
Larry met his wife Novalynn Powell in Pasadena, Texas in 1989. They became best friends and married soon after. In 1993 they welcomed their son Larry Allen Klabacka II into the world. Larry also became a father figure to a young girl, Arlayna Wooten, during that same year. Larry enjoyed spending time with them both on the weekends taking them on drives to the beach or watching movies at home. Around 2005, Arlayna had Alexis who has called Larry “PeePaw” and he considered her his only grandchild. In 2008, his stepson, Devin Gray was born. Larry welcomed Devin Gray and his father John Gray into his heart and his home. Larry loved, provided, cared for, and called them his immediate family.
Larry is survived by wife Novalynn Klabacka, son Larry Allen Klabacka II, daughter in heart Arlayna “Nayna” Wooten, granddaughter in heart Alexis “Lexie” Copeland, step-son Devin Gray, Devin's father John Gray, brother Richard Klabacka, half brother John Stuckey and wife Kiesa, nieces Shyla Stuckey and Kaitlyn Stuckey, nephews Tyson Wright and Raymond Wright. Uncle Darryl “George” Frazier, cousins Michelle Lunt, Lisa Frazier-Plaster, Michael Frazier, and Meriah Plaster, mother-in-law Debra Lynn Allen Powell, father-in-law Henry "Nova" Powell.
Services for Larry Klabacka will be held at Brookside Funeral Home and Memorial Park, located at 13747 Eastex Fwy., Houston, TX 77039 on Sunday, May 7, 2023. The visitation is from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM Memorial services will be from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
