He was born January 16, 1944 in Madisonville, Texas. Larry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend that will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him. He owned and operated Antex Roofing Company with his partner Michael D. Hudson; he was in roofing since 18 years of age. Larry had a passion for racing and he created the team “Zak Attack Racing”. He enjoyed riding dirt bikes, hunting, fishing, water skiing with his brother-in-law Kenny in Lake Conroe. Larry loved to play the slot machines so much that he started the Jackpot Cookers BBQ team for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and through the years won first place in several BBQ events.
He is survived by his wife, Tina Hausler; children: Cheryl Hausler Jenkins, Vivian Hausler Fishel and Zachary Hausler; grandchildren: Chase Anderson, Colin Jenkins and Savannah Fishel; great-grandson Carter Anderson; mother, Ruby Spikes; sisters: Linda Kleppel and Peggy Mushinski; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. Larry is preceded in death by his father Clyde Spikes and his first wife Catherine Hausler.
The family will receive friends for a visitation Friday, July 22, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Grand Chapel at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 23, 2016 in the Grand Chapel at Brookside Funeral Home followed by a burial in Brookside Memorial Park.
