Dear Grand Master Cho,
When I began taking your classes I was a young child. You took me in and showed me what it meant to be a good person and a strong spirit. I still practice the things you taught me from youth to adulthood. You were a father figure to me when no one else was. I deeply miss you and I pray that you are in the afterlife that you deserve. Thank you for bringing structure and guidance to me and all of your students.

Dear Grand Master Cho,
I knew I wanted to become one of your students from a very young age (5 or 6) when my brother attended your classes, and it would be many years later before my path would lead me back to your dojang.  I knew at once when I started my first class that I was hooked and would stay for as long as I could.  Thank-you so much for showing me the wondrous, and beautiful art of Tae Kwon Do.  Through your patient teaching, I have been able to grow so much – physically, mentally, and spiritually.  It has been my honor to be one of your students, and I will think of you each time I answer loudly “Ki-ya!”.  I also pledge to you that I will bring honor to you & your school by giving my all.  I will miss you very much, but know that you are now at rest smiling down on family, students Kam-sa-ham-ni-da Gwang-Jang-Nim Cho.

To this day I still cannot recall what got me to enter Cho's Tae Kwon Do the first time those many years ago, but when I started I would not stop.  Even though work and other things took me away from Master Cho, I always returned.  Master Cho helped me find a self confidence that I did not know I even had.  After starting class, friends told me I was changing when I didn't even notice it.  I owe this to Master Cho and his years of training.  I have seen how he has had the same impact on many of his students over the years.  His discipline, focus, and attention to each student will be greatly missed.  I know he cannot be replaced but I will do my best to continue to teach the students the way he did and hopefully I will be able to live up to his standards.  Though you have left us, your legacy will continue on in your students.  My deepest sympathy to your family.  Know that they will always be in our prayers.

Words are hard to come by that can properly tell what Grandmaster Cho has meant to me and my family. He will missed by all. It has been my honor to train and teach under our master for all these many years. To witness how he worked with and molded so many kids has been a wonder to watch. He will be sorely missed and cannot be replaced. Every day since this loss when I walk in to the dojo I can still feel his presence and I know his sharp eye is on me and I will do my best to carry on and teach as he taught us. Thank you from the bottom of my heart does not seem enough to say but knowing how he felt about us his students, knowing we will continue on and he will live forever in our hearts.

Rest in Peace Master Cho. You were part of my most important transition in my life in terms of health and fitness and I will never forget the experience I had being your student in martial arts.

I still remember my very first class at the dojang. Your stoic presence and few words definitely made me a bit intimidated at first, but I quickly learned that you had a love for all of your students and wanted us to all do the best we could possibly do. "Harder than that" was a phrase that you said quite often, and it pushed me to work harder. Things that I learned from you have been embedded in my heart and mind, and I am forever grateful. You have been like a father to me in more ways than you probably know, and I always felt welcome in your family. I thank you for that, and will miss you and your teachings. May you rest in peace as your legacy lives on.

It was an incredible experience to learn from Master Cho. An experience that has shaped me into the person I am today and one I will not soon forget. Thank you for all the great lessons and memories.

You and your family have known my brother and I for more than half our lives and we can both honestly say that we wouldn't be who we are if it wasn't for you. Master Cho, the day I was looking for a Tae Kwon Do instructor, destiny brought me to you.  Before I could speak, I saw you in blue uniform; I knew you were the one that I was going to learn from. I didn't have a second thought and said: “yes, I want to do Tae Kwon Do”, Then you said “come tomorrow……” you handed me a set of white uniform……That was a great Friday of my life.  

I am so fortunate and with such great honor to be one of your many students. You will always to be remembered, your spirit will always with us.

Grandmaster Cho helped to lay so many foundations for me as a child that make me the person I am today. He taught me to always have perseverance . He taught me to be disciplined. Most importantly he taught me to have an indomitable spirit, the attitude that I'll never give up no matter how hard it gets. When I was just eight years old I resigned from a prestigious ballet school in pursuit to study tae kwon do with you and your  children Christine, Jason, and my very own brother Christian. Little did I know at that time, just what a tremendous impact you would have on my life with such an unforgettable journey through the strength and beauty of martial arts. Each day after school I was in your care practicing tae kwon do. Year after year, belt after belt, my heart not only grew with just tae kwon do, but with the forever bond that was forming between myself and your family. Even when I left for college which caused my absence from tae kwon do for quite sometime, you welcomed me back when I was ready to return. Again and again. No matter how much time has lapsed or how much distance seperated me, once I became a cho student I became part of a tae kwon do family for life. You breathed life not only into me but all of your students. You gave us the priceless gift of discipline and an indomitable spirit to last beyond a lifetime. Thank you from the entirety of my heart for all the years, memories, laughs, cries, "stern looks," lectures, push-ups for misbehaving, and forever joy you blessed me with in this world. May god continuously bless and guide you as you pass on. I find comfort that you are in peace and will no longer suffer, but you will still be immensely missed by so many. I remember the first time I met Grand Master Cho.  I was impressed by how peaceful, and confident he was.  He struck me as someone that was very respected.  I will miss being his student.  I will miss seeing his smile.  He had a great smile.

Grandmaster Cho, to me and my brother, you were the driving force that led us to give it our all during training. Tae-Kwon-Do has become a part of our lives, and the constant drilling during class has made my technique instinct. I will never forget the Christmas of 2013, when my family and I coincidentially saw you on vacation at the sea. It was a good time, and you were very relaxed. We were all having a great time.

On those days, you became more than just our teacher, but our friend. My brother and I will train hard and fight hard. We hope to one day represent you with the coming of our eventual black belts. We are appreciative of all that you gave to us.

It was an honor to have trained under a real legend and grandmaster. Your lessons were a formative part of my childhood (1994-2001), as I transformed from shy socially awkward wimp to competent black belt. I still practice martial arts even to this very day. It's time to bow out one last time.

Grandmaster Cho, I am so thankful to have been given the opportunity to train under you and be an instructor at your dojang.  I'm grateful for your daughter Christine for introducing me to the world of tae kwon do.  You taught me self-discipline, respect, and helped push me physically as well as mentally.  You and Mrs. Cho have welcomed me into your family with open arms, and you've always treated me like a daughter.  I am blessed to have known you and your family for all these years.  Your legacy will continue to live on in your students, your children, your grandchildren, and generations to come.  Words cannot express how much you will be missed...

As one of your early students in 1982 I will always look back fondly at my time under your instruction. I know that in your later years you became quite an inspiration for my sister as well. Your life and your school shall always have a special place in our family.

Master Cho, what an amazing life you led!  You have touched so many lives including my family's and I am so blessed and honored to have known you.  I must admit that growing up, whenever I would come to Linda's tests, I was very intimidated by you but I could still see you had such dignity, compassion, and dedication to your craft, your students, and your family.
