Kenneth Harold Pulley born February 22, 1940 lost his battle with cancer but gained his wings on July 24, 2023. He is survived by his wife of 23 years Thelma Pulley, brother John Wesley Pulley, daughter Sherry Pulley Howington and husband Kevin, daughter Karen Pulley Vicknair and husband Darrell. Bonus sons are David Rosenquist and wife Mindi, Mark Rosenquist and wife Maja.
He was PawPaw to his grandchildren Michelle Stepan Cabeen and husband Kevin, Lindsey Stepan, Logan Vicknair, Landon Vicknair, and Lane Vicknair. His great-grandchildren are Briar Kavanaugh, Brooke Kavanaugh, Macie Cabeen and arriving soon, Sadie Cabeen. Bonus grandchildren Addison Rosenquist, Avory Rosenhuff and husband Victor, Davin Rosenquist, Kyla Rosenquist, and Kjell Rosenquist. They all loved their PawPaw.
Kenneth was born to parents Wesley (Dub) Vernon Pulley and Mary (Gladys) McCurley Pulley in Houston, TX. He was raised in the Heights then moved to Oak Forest area. He attended Oak Forest Elementary, Hamilton and Hogg Jr High, and Reagan High School class of 1959. It was during his senior year of high school that he joined the Air National Guard. After high school, he attended Texas A&M University where he was a member of the Corps of Cadets. During college, he met and married Iris Rae Herzog in 1961 and they had 2 daughters Sherry and Karen. He later married Thelma (Smith) Rosenquist and remained with her for the rest of his life.
He spent his early career in banking then moved to Real Estate sales. He was one of the main salesmen for the Bear Creek subdivision until it sold out. He continued his sales career in various forms until his retirement.
He was an active member of the Reagan High School Alumni and was a member of Second Baptist Church in Houston.
Kenneth loved fishing and hunting, but he most enjoyed time with family, especially his grandkids and great grandkids.
Ken fought a hard and courageous battle with cancer and is finally free. Ken was a gentle man with so much love for his family. He had many good friends and never met a stranger. Ken, Daddy, Pawpaw…you will forever be loved and missed.
A visitation for Kenneth will be held Thursday, August 3, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX. A funeral service will occur Friday, August 4, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM, at the funeral home. A committal service will occur Friday, after the funeral service at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery.
