Kaleb Cantrell found success in his natural talents and strengths, but he still found wonder in all that he discovered. He sought happiness, love, enjoyment and excitement at every turn of his life, and he was quick to embrace new friends and experiences. He was at his happiest when he was helping others to learn, grow and prosper.
Kaleb Cantrell graduated in 2016 from St. Pius High School in Houston, Texas, and was a naturally gifted athlete who excelled at football, golf, rugby, track & field, cheer and wakeboarding. He later was a member of the University of Kentucky cheerleading team, including the 2018 national championship varsity squad. In recent years, he worked alongside his family and friends as a youth athletics trainer at Elevate Athletics, and he was a beloved school cheer coach for students of all ages attending numerous schools in Lufkin and then in Houston, Texas (including Episcopal High School, Second Baptist School, St. Francis Episcopal, St. John’s School and The Kinkaid School).
Kaleb loved his family deeply, and he was an amazing and caring older brother to his sister, Kate, and his brother, Kent. Kaleb showered his brother and sister with love and affection and was truly devoted to them.
Kaleb Cantrell is survived by his parents, Kimberly A. Chapman and J. Daniel Chapman (his father by adoption); his sister, Katherine A. Chapman; his brother, Kent A. Chapman; his long-term girlfriend, Shelby V. Geraci; and his grandparents, Bonnie C. Cantrell, Ann D. Chapman and James P. Chapman. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Larry R. Cantrell.
