Justin Everardo Mata, 24, passed away on April 26, 2021. He is the beloved son of Julia Mata and Everardo Guajardo. He was born on January 4, 1997 in Houston, Texas. He graduated from Jefferson Davis (Northside) High School in 2015. He recently started working for Dixie Carpet Installation Inc.
Justin was blessed with a large and loving family and one day hoped to get married and have kids of his own. He often talked about how he wanted his kids to look up to his niece, Alyssa, who he would refer to as “his pride and joy”. He also wanted his kids to be able to grow up with his nephew, Joe lll (LJ) the way he grew up with his big brother and numerous cousins. Justin never missed an opportunity to show his love for others, especially his mom. He often sent her messages and voicemails saying, “ I love you mom”. He was very affectionate towards her and was not afraid to show it. He would always make sure to kiss her cheek and forehead when saying goodbye.
Justin was the kindest, sweetest, and frequently the tallest young man in the room. He would put others first and was always willing to help others when needed no matter what. Since he was a kid, he spent countless hours playing video games and listening to rock music. Justin also loved watching movies. His favorites were the Harry Potter and Star Wars sagas. When he had a chance, he would catch up on the latest Mandalorian episodes. Justin also took every opportunity to go out to eat and bond with his family and friends. He often talked about how he wanted to gain weight, but was not able to. Most of us would be jealous of the amount of food he was able to consume and we often told him how lucky he was. We will always cherish his memory and the wonderful times and blessings that he brought to us all.
In addition to his parents, Justin is survived by his big brother, Joe A. Vega Jr. and wife Dania, niece Alyssa Vega and nephew Joe A. Vega lll. Also mourning his loss are his grandma Frances Zamora, aunt Virginia Mata, cousins Michelle and Robert, Sabrina, Nick and Madelin, Chris, Jojo, and Tino; and best friend Israel Menjivar. He is predeceased by little grandma Frances Zamora and papa Leandro Zamora. Justin lived life to the fullest and will always be remembered for his brilliant smile and soft loving heart.
