Joycelyn Camellia Bradley

She and Bill married on June 6, 1952 at the ages of 18 & 24.

They lived in Houston all their lives, and with great teamwork and dedication to each other they raised three great kids.

First, there was Keith Allen who died April 5, 2017 at age 61, then Glenn Edward who died September 30, 1993 at age 35, and Sheryl Lynn who died August 5, 1984 at age 22.

Bill died November 26, 2012 at age 85.

Joyce worked as a secretary for a few years for Weiner’s Department Store.

She was very active in church. First at Reid Methodist where her mother was the choir director and then at Garden Oaks Baptist where she and Bill were in charge of the youth group activities and sang in the choir. She & Bill sang many duets at Easter and Christmas. Later they began worshipping at the Burbank Church of Christ where, after further Bible study and prayer, Keith baptized his parents into the body of Christ.

She loved cooking, music, singing, entertaining in her home, playing games, bowling, making ceramic gifts, and watching the Texans and our World Champion Houston Astros.

Joyce never saw herself as others saw her.

But make no mistake, she was a woman of great courage, strength, and trust in God!

She and Bill experienced great loss during their 60 years of marriage but they did not let that define them.

They left a beautiful example of overcoming heartache to the point of enjoying life again through the strength of our Lord Jesus Christ!
