Joyce Bunting

Mary Joyce Bunting, age 89, of Houston, Texas, passed away on Saturday, June 12, 2021. Joyce was born May 12, 1932, in Giles County, Tennessee, near the town of Pulaski. She moved to Houston in 1951, where she worked for Houston Title Company. Her last employment was at Bank of America, where she worked for over 20 years. Her greatest joy in life was her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy K. Bunting, in 2018. Left to cherish her memory are sons Stan Bunting and wife Stephani, Dan Bunting and wife Carol; brothers Edgar and Gary Sumners; sisters Arlene Hawthorne and Ann Adair; grandchildren Tiffani Adams and husband Kirt Adams, Heather Bunting, Eric Bunting, Laura Traner and husband Mike Traner, Katherine Morris and husband Tanner Morris; great-grandchildren Evan Adams, Elise Adams, Weston Adams, Gavin Traner & Lucas Traner.

The family would like to thank two people who were part of Joyce's extended family. They were critical in caring for her in her final years of life; Linda Butler and Ismael Flores cared for and loved Joyce as though she was their mother. For this, the family is eternally grateful.

A private service for the family will be held Friday, June 18, 2021, from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039.

Following the service, a private reception will be held at Carrabba's at 3115 Kirby Drive.
