Joshua Allen Troutt, age 26, took his last earthly breath on January 6, 2023, and is now in his eternal home with his Lord. He was born on February 8, 1996 to Dale and Judy Troutt.
Josh’s childhood was marked by love and family.
From the moment he was born, Josh’s life was a miracle. He survived long odds to live but grew up to be six foot four. The day his sister was born was one of the proudest moments of his life. As a kid he was always surrounded by his friends specifically his lifelong best friend Dylan Drum, with whom he spent a lot of time growing up and into his adult life. He loved playing sports—football, basketball, baseball—jumping over the neighbor’s fence to hang out with Dylan, riding bikes through the neighborhood, and messing around with his cousins, usually at his Grandparents’ house. He spent the most time with his Grandparents and his sister, who he loved so deeply, usually showing it by throwing things at her or putting her in a headlock. He was a goofball as a kid, and never grew out of it. He was a graduate of Langham Creek High School in Houston, Texas. Josh’s life after school led him to a hard working career of equipment operation and manual labor, which he loved and performed with great skill. He was a devoted husband, son, son-in-law, grandson, friend, cousin, and uncle. Josh had a very special bond with his Grandma Ruth, and he was significantly impacted by her faithfulness, generosity, and kindness. He began to show this through himself from an early age.
Josh was known for his radiant smile, infectious laugh, and his unconditional love for others.
Josh had a way of making everyone feel important to him. Always giving life to others. Always willing to help others – no questions asked. His hugs were iconic, and anyone who’s hugged him knows it. He was married to Angelica, the love of his life. Together they shared an incredible love story and life with their four loyal dogs Paisley, Ro, Hagen, and Sadie. Josh loved the outdoors, no matter what if it was outdoors, he liked it – hunting, fishing, watering the grass and plants, hanging out in his garage (a Cypress thing) and detailing his truck. He didn’t sweat the small stuff, and inspired others to live their lives to the fullest... Which he did. He was stubborn, sarcastic, and funny. Josh also loved a good cigar; you could often find him in his garage enjoying one on Friday and Saturday nights listening to his favorite music.
Josh left his mark on everyone he met.
He trusted God and did not worry about what was to come. He displayed strength, courage, kindness, and humility. He had a quiet confidence and never wanted to be the center of attention, didn’t vocalize his emotions that often, but you could tell he loved and cared about you immensely just by the way he was. He had a deep yet simple understanding of what’s important in life—family, friends, faith—and cherished greatly time spent with those he loved. He was slow to judge and quick to forgive, and above all steadfastly loved others. By his quiet and unselfish example, he showed everyone who met him the deep and unconditional love that Christ has shown us. We are diminished tremendously by his passing, but press on with the eternal hope of everlasting life freely given us by our Creator, whom Josh knew intimately. Within the last few days of Josh’s life he got a glimpse at what Heaven was like through a book his wife Angelica was reading called "Imagine Heaven". There were several nights leading up to the day Josh departed his earthly life where Angelica would read him the incredible stories throughout this book sharing the Glory of God and the ways He can move mountains. It’s almost as if God was preparing them both for Josh’s departure. Although we lost Josh way too early for our earthly minds to comprehend, we know and trust that God is in control.
Josh is survived by his loving wife Angelica, his parents Dale and Judy Troutt, his sister Kimberly Troutt, his mother-in-law Connie Garcia, his aunts and uncles Linda (Brad) Brock, Barbie (Andy) Smith, Lolly (Bill) Samuel, Iris (Dwight) Arnold, Glennie Mueller, many cousins, friends and family that he loved very much.
He is preceded in death by his Grandparents Van and Ruth Penrod and Joan Troutt, his uncle John Penrod, his aunt Denise Troutt and his father-in-law Gregory Garcia. The family wishes any memorial contributions be made to Community of Faith Best Gift Offering.
