Josette Christolin (affectionately known as Josie), 62, of Houston, peacefully passed away on June 13th, 2023 surrounded by loved ones, after a difficult battle with Sarcoidosis.
Josie was born on April 21st, 1961 to Joseph & Mary Christolin in the small town of Limbé, Haiti. Her family relocated to New York in 1967. After Josie graduated from Franklin D. Roosevelt High School in Brooklyn, New York in 1979. She continued her education at SUNY attending Brockport & New Paltz colleges.
After graduation, she worked in the finance industry for over ten years. She then discovered her calling in entrepreneurship. Her first business venture was an in-home daycare in Far Rockaway, New York. This small daycare eventually blossomed into a full center and Josie became an important figure in that community for over a decade. While operating her Daycare she entered the real estate field as an investor where she was successful for many years. In 2009 she relocated to Houston, Texas and began working in retail furniture sales and interior design.
In 1991 she gave birth to her pride & joy, Sean Tyler Johnson. He went on to marry Karimah Johnson in 2018 and in 2021 Josie’s first granddaughter Kairi Rose Johnson was born, whom she loved dearly.
Josie was a very loving and caring person who was always generous with her time, attention and even her finances. She enjoyed drawing, cooking, and doing interior design as hobbies. She never lost her interest in real estate and attained her real estate license in Texas.
Josie was predeceased by her mother, father, and her brother Joey Christolin. Josie is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Sean and Karimah Johnson, and her granddaughter Kairi. She is also survived by her siblings, Useline, Manette & Robinson and a host of nieces and nephews. She will be missed by numerous friends. There are no events planned, as she did not wish to have services. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Foundation for Sarcoidosis Research.
