She was born in Houston, Texas on March 9, 1946. Josephine Brewster graduated from Jeff Davis High School.
She was married to Arthur R. Brewster for 43 years.
Josephine Brewster worked in hospitality and customer service for Sheraton Hotels, Woolworth's and Fiesta Store.
She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, and had a passion for her church, prayer and being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
She is survived by children, Lisa Brewster, Angela Brewster Torres, Mary Teresa Shelton; son-in-laws, Raul Torres and Ernest Shelton; grandchildren, Jason Kivette, Adriana Ortiz, Nicodemus Torres, Scarlett Torres, Alexandra Shelton, Chloe Shelton, Wesley Shelton, Nevaeh Shelton; siblings, Ernestine Salazar, Joe Chavez, Gloria Medrano, Rachel Guiterez, Beatrice Chavez; great-grandchildren, Nathaniel, Madelyn and Christian Rosas and Landon Perez.
A visitation for Josephine will be held Thursday, June 15, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM at American Heritage Funeral Home, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038. A funeral service will occur Thursday, June 15, 2023 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038. A committal service will occur Thursday, June 15, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038.
Serving as pallbearers are Jason Kivette, Nicodemus Torres, Wesley Shelton, Ernest Shelton, Raul Torres and Carlos Rosas.
