Joseph Louis Sedita, loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2022 at the age of 88. He was born in Houston to Louis Joseph and Mary Antoinette (Costa) Sedita on October 30, 1933. His roots were deeply planted in the greater Houston area for the duration of his life. Joe graduated from St. Thomas High School in 1951, and went on to study at the University of Houston. He married his soul mate on April 8, 1956, Natalie (Pacini) Sedita, and they shared 66 blessed years of marriage together.
Joe’s accounting career was devoted to the oil and gas industry where he worked for Halbouty, Westland Oil, and Maralo Oil and Gas. He retired in 1999, and enjoyed his retirement years on the golf course, traveling with his wife Natalie, sharing produce from his vegetable garden, researching family ancestry, and watching sports. Since the time he was a young man, Joe was an avid Houston baseball fan passionately supporting the Houston Colt .45s, the Houston Buffaloes, and his beloved Houston Astros.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents and by his sister Ann (Sedita) Samperi and brother-in law Ciro Samperi. He is survived by his wife, Natalie; son and daughter-in-law, Louis and Ann Sedita; son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Mary Sedita; daughter and son-in-law, Annette (Sedita) and Michael Cayard; son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Joysa Sedita; brother Msgr. Vincent Sedita; sister, Rosalie Sedita; granddaughter Natalie (Sedita) Crow and husband Hampton; granddaughter Michelle (Sedita) Little and husband Sam; grandson Andrew Forsell Cayard and wife Maggie; grandson Tristan Sedita; granddaughter Nicole (Cayard) Tipping and husband Weston; granddaughter AnnMarie (Sedita) Parker; granddaughter Kassandra Sedita; and 5 precious great grandchildren.
Joe’s family held him in the highest regard and loved him dearly. The family invites all family and friends to his celebration of life which will be held on Saturday, October 8th at 2:00 pm at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, Texas 77023 with his brother Msgr. Vincent A. Sedita as celebrant. Burial will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
