Jose Mariano Torres-Bonilla

Jose Mariano Torres-Bonilla Age 82, of Houston, TX passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2023 surrounded by his family and friends at home.

Jose Mariano beloved brother, uncle, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather was a caring, lovable man that served as a father figure to many of his family members.

Jose Mariano was born in Estansuelas, El Salvador to Leonor Bonilla and Jose Benjamin Torres (both deceased) where he grew alongside his siblings Jesus de Teresa Torres, Porfirio Torres, Francisco Torres and Salvador Torres (living). Siblings preceded in Death are Albino Torres, Carlos Torres, Amilicar Torres, Benjamin Torres and Maria Eloisa Torres. On January 1, 1961, he joined his life to that of Delfina del Carmen Martinez and soon they began their own family.

Born to them is Maria Concepcion Torres, Jose Alfredo Torrez, Aristides Paz Torres, Daisy Carmen Escobar and Jose Benjamin Torres. They also had 3 children who died at birth. He and his family eventually immigrated to the United States of America, and it was a proud day for him when he became a US citizen.

He leaves behind his wife, children, a son-in-law, daughters-in-law, 14 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and a great number of nieces and nephews.

He was always there for the family in good times and not so good times, and we were glad that he gave us a few more months despite his illness to be with us a bit longer.

Together his family and friends will gather on the appointed day to say our goodbyes, however each of us will remember him differently, each cherishing the great impact his life was for each one of us.
