He died at the age of eighty-six.
Jose Luis Martinez was born on March 19, 1935, in Carlos Diaz, Tamboril, Dominican Republic to a humble family. His father Juan Bautista Martinez and his mother Ana Rosa Guzman were honest and hardworking people.Jose Luis was the eldest of fifteen brothers and sisters. He enjoyed learning new things as a child. He was very curious and intelligent. He was an avid learner of mathematics,
science and geography. One of his favorite hobbies was to sing songs with his sister Celeste and his cousin Ana Rita (Canuta).
Jose Luis married Andrea Mercedes Polanco in 1953. They had seven children. The first Rafael died at the tender age of one.Then Julian, Juan, Elia, Franco, Lucia and Luis completed their
family with joy and love.He was an exemplary teacher to his children and his students. He was a teach at the school in Arroyo del Toro, Amaceyes DR where he began his life with his wife and children. He also farmed, had cattle and groceries store. One of Luis traits that stands out is that though he had a grocery store he could use for personal use, he would purchase the products from the store making sure the books were balanced. He was always that way making sure the books were cleared and balanced.
When he had the opportunity to emigrate to the USA in 1965, he brought his wife. He calculated exactly his goal. After settling in the US, he brought his six children.
Luis has always been kind and generous. He donated computers to the Carlos Dias school so the children would learn how to use computers because for Luis education was the key to success. He was very generous toward his fellow man.
Jose Luis served in the Army of the National Guard of the Dominican Republic.
We will always remember Jose Luis as a loving husband and father with great integrity and compassion for others.He was a noble and caring grandfather and great grandfather.Today we celebrate the life of Jose Luis Martinez as he walks through the gates of heaven and is embraced by our Savior.

Jose Luis Martinez fué llamado a su eternal gloria el Miercoles,
16 de Marzo del 2022 a las cuatro y media P.M. rodeado de sus
seres queridos en el Hospital Memorial Hermann, Cardiovascular de Houston; a la edad de ochenta y seis anos.
Jose Luis nacio el 19 de Marzo de 1935 en Carlos Diaz,
Republica Dominicana. Su padre Juan Bautista Martinez y su
madre Ana Rosa Guzman eran humilde y trabajadores.
El era el mayor de quince hijos e hijas.
Jose Luis disfrutaba aprender cosas nuevas. Era muy curioso
e inteligente se esmeraba en aprender matematicas, ciencias
y geografia. Por lo tanto fue maestro en la escuela de la
comunidad de Carlos Diaz.
Uno de sus pasatiempos favoritos era cantar con su hermana Celeste y su prima Ana Rita (Canuta).
Jose Luis se caso con Andrea Mercedes Polanco en 1953. Tuvieron siete hijos el primero Rafael fallecio de un año de edad. Despues nacio Julian, Juan, Elia, Franco, Lucia y Luis. Ellos
llenaron su hogar de amor y gozo.
Jose Luis fue un maestro ejemplar para sus hijos e estudiantes.
El fue maestro en la escuela en Arroyo del Toro donde comenzo su vida con su esposa e hijos. Tambien cultivava, tenia ganado y pulperia. Una de las caracteristicas de Luis que se destaca es que, aunque tenia un pulperia or colmado que podia usar para su casa, comprababa los productors del colmado asegurandose de que los libros estuvieran limpios y asi siempre fue.
Cuando tuvo la opurtinad de emigrar a los Estados, trajo a su esposa en 1965 para los Estados Unidos. El calculo exactamente su meta. Despues de haberse establecio en EU trajo sus seis hijos. Luis ha siempre sido bondadoso, donando computadoras a la escuela de Carlos Dias porque para Luis, el studio era my importante. Tambien hacia ayuda financiera.
Su legado era ayudar al projimo en todo tiempo.
Jose Luis sirvio en el Ejercito de la Guardia Nacional de la
Republica Dominicana.
Siempre recordaremos a Jose Luis como un esposo y padre
Responsible y dedicado a su familia, de gran integridad y compasion por los demas.
El fue un abuelo y bisabuelo noble y amable con sus nietos y
bisnietos.
Su amor y pasion por la vida fue evidente, a traves de su finca,
sus caballos, vacas, chivos y gallina y su huerto en su granja.
Hoy celebramos la vida de Papa Luis mientras el pasa por las
puertas del cielo y es abrazado por nuestro Salvador. Su
memoria esta marcada en nuestros corazones para siempre.

A committal service will occur Wednesday, March 23, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, March 23, 2022 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Saint Cyril of Alexandria Church, 10503 Westheimer Rd, Houston, TX 77042.
