Jose Humberto Gonzalez, born May 17, 1929 to Fidel and Marcelina Vega in Monterey, Mexico, passed away March 16, 2013 in Houston, Texas. Mr. Gonzalez is survived by his beloved wife of more than 55 years, Maria Teresa Gonzalez; children, Jesus H. Gonzalez, Jose Fidel Gonzalez and wife, Santa, Jose Louis Gonzalez and wife, Blanca, Martin E. Gonzalez, and Daniel S. Gonzalez and wife, Lisa; grandchildren, Melissa and Jesse Jr. Gonzalez, Lillian Beard and husband, Casey, Vanessa Laird and husband, Curtis, Angelica and Levi Gonzalez, Martin Gonzalez Jr. and wife, Priscilla, Marcus, Anthony, and Ashley Gonzalez, and Christopher Gonzalez; great-grandchildren, Jenniffer Beard, Sophia Gonzalez, and James Curtis Laird; brother, Armando Vega and wife, Rachel, and by other family and friends.
Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2013 in the Chapel of Heights Funeral Home, where a rosary vigil service will begin at 7:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at Saint Patrick Catholic Church, 4918 Cochran Street, Houston, Texas 77009. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum of Holy Cross Cemetery, Houston, Texas.
