John "Freddy" Frederick Sampson

John Frederick Sampson, native Houstonian, passed away peacefully on Saturday, the 26th of October 2024, at the age of 91. He was born on the 29th of July 1933, to the late John L. Sampson Jr. and Marie Rollins Sampson.

Freddy married the love of his life Nancy Marsh in 1958, in the church founded by her great grandparents, St. John United Church of Christ, and remained active there. Freddy and Nancy enjoyed traveling to Europe, Costa Rica, Japan, China, Alaska and throughout the U.S.

Freddy is predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Nancy.

Grateful for having shared his life are his son Scott, formerly of California and now of Houston; his brother Bobby Sampson and his wife Cookie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from four o’clock in the afternoon until seven o’clock in the evening on Monday, the 9th of December, in the grand foyer of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston.

A funeral service is to be conducted at eleven o’clock in the morning on Tuesday, the 10th of December, in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston.

The interment is to follow, via escorted cortege, at Woodlawn Cemetery in Houston.

In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests memorial contributions be directed to the charity of one's choice.
