John Randolph Gillen, U.S.M.C., passed to the arms of our loving Savior, November 4, 2016. He was born on February 16, 1955 to the late James William Gillen, U.S. Army Air Corp and Dorothy Virginia Mahr Gillen.
John, a life-long native Houstonian, was an accomplished oil tool equipment machinist employed by
Schlumberger, Saunders Valve, Ross Hills, Dresser, finally culminating as an inspector for Cameron Oil.
For over 30 years, John also mentored and counseled many of the community afflicted with alcoholism and drug addiction. His earthy and direct charm will be sorely missed by friends and family alike.
John, a dedicated and loving friend and father is survived by daughters Tracy Lynn Gillen and Kristen Harlow Gillen-Oliver and son, Joshua William Gillen-Oliver, grandchildren Ironesha Gillen, Chardenae Williams and Donavan Michael Garcia and a brother, Joseph Patrick Gillen.
