There are no words to express the sadness that both Mom and I feel to hear that Pastor Cavazos is no longer with us on this earth but we are comforted that we will see him again. We have good memories, laughs and lots of jokes, there was so much we went through together and it was an honor to work alongside a great man of faith and prayer. I will never forget arriving at church at the crack of dawn only to hear Pastor praying at the altar; he prayed each and every day at the church until the very last day he was our Pastor.  
Mom and I can never forget how Pastor and Hna Angie were always there when my dad was sick in the hospital for months; we are forever grateful for the prayers, the support, for just being there, oh yes and for the food. 
We are praying constantly for Hna. Angie and all the family, we love you all and know that God will comfort and strengthen you, for in time such as these He is there.


Our  condolence to the Cavazos Family. Joel and Angie have been great long time friends and co-labors in the work if the Lord. May the  Holy Spirit bring comfort to the family. Our prayers and deepest sympathy be with all of the Cavazos Family.

My deep and sincere condolences to the Cavazos family! In the short time that I knew Rev Cavazos he left an impressive memory in me! He made me feel like I had known him all my life. What stood out in him that first meeting was his down to earth personality and humbleness.  I was very impressed with his 15 minute sermon at the Dia del Presbiterio where he shared with me that he was told to keep it short! I last saw him when our Presidente Rev Nuñes came to Houston in January. I'm glad I asked him to take a photo with me! My tocayo (we are both Joel) and fellow US Army veteran thank you for sharing with me your Christ like friendship! Rest in peace Soldier of the US and of the Gospel. We will continue to pray for God's love on the Cavazos family! Amen.

Cavazo Family you are in my prayers. Hno Rev. Cavazos was a very devoted pastor. Brought alot of souls to the Lord Amen!! He will never be forgotten.

To the Man that I will always treasure 
Hno. Cavazos:
My faced is draped with tears as I write you this letter. My heart is shattered, but it gives me peace that you are with Jesus now. I was only a small child when my mother started attending Templo Jerusalem where you were Pastoring. I felt the warmth, the sincerity that you and Angie had brought to the church. My childhood prayers were mainly of a void, I didn't have a father's guide and one day you looked at me and told me "GOD had already answered my prayer, he sent me you". Even though my family was broken, your embrace and humility made me feel whole. My heart is heavy, as I tell myself I will never hear your voice again, but I feel comfort in knowing I will see you again. Thank you for your patience as there were many last minute "I need a ride" call's. Getting home from night school was challenging and came with many obstacles. You rescued me from them. Although, I was determined you made it bearable. I apologize if I ever pulled you away from your family dinners. At times, I was just so exhausted that I would start to lose hope. I would hesitantly call you, and without saying another word your response would be "I’m on my way". Calmly, you would ask me how my day went, and you would listen while I rambled about imagining a better life. When I grew up I wanted to extend the favor that you once showed me. My memories with you and Angie in Paris, and Rome will forever be cherished. Your facial expression when you first seen the Mona Lisa and the Eiffel Tower is invaluable.  In a recent time when I was diagnosed with COVID, your faith and prayers held me together. You prayed religiously and daily for me and through prayers, I can testify of his healing.  Thank you for the role you played in my life; for caring and believing in me, for never allowing me to give up, for helping me with my school work and my purpose. I want to also thank  your children Diana, Silvia, Joel, Marie for sharing their father with me. 

Hno. Cavazos, there aren’t words to express what you meant to myself and my family. I had the privilege of knowing you for many years. Your laugh was contagious and you had jokes. You’d always call me Adam-12. The greatest privilege we had was having you in our home for a week when you gave us campaña in 2017.  The Lord blessed us in that revival. It was one of the best times I had having someone in my home because you were family to us. My boys and Tina came to love you and the boys would still talk about you to this day. You will be greatly missed! Hna. Angie, Hna. Esparza, Joel Sylvia, and Marie thanks for sharing your dad with us. We are praying for you all during these difficult times. We love you. God bless. Adam, Tina, AJ, Aric and Austin (or as Hno Cavazos called him nana).

Our sincere condolences to you and your family. We thank my Lord for knowing brother Cavazos  with always a smile.  Many memories of him will always be remembered. 

Mr. Cavazos was a kind, loving  and wonderful neighbor.  Always a wave as I came home or saw him in his yard, asking how I was.  Even taking time to pray with me on a particularly hard day!  I marveled at how hard he worked and kept his yard up.  You knew he loved the Lord and was a special man.  I will miss seeing him across the street.  God bless you, Angie, and your family, in this sad time.

Whenever he would visit the office near a Jewish holiday, he went out of his way to greet me appropriately and sincerely in Hebrew. I appreciated his effort and our mutual respect for one another.

We are never prepared when a love one is unexpectedly called home and the passing of Papa Joel is no exception.  But we must remember God does not make mistakes.  Papa Joel was a faithful servant to God and his appointed time has come.  Denise and I are confident God greeted Papa Joel by saying " Welcome home my good and faithful servant".  We will miss him very much.  The Bradley family became united with the Cavazos family several years ago through marriage.  Angie you and your family are stuck with us! You will never be alone.  We will always stand with you.    

Hna. Cavazos, I am deeply saddened about Hno. Cavazos. 
He was dear to us. Always a smile when he recieved us with a hard grip of a handshake. Made us  feel special and  welcomed.
I remember when we would go  to your home, when he was Pastor of Templo Jerusalem, he was always ready to make sure we had eaten. We really did appreciate you both.  Your children young as ours .They got along so well. So long ago but I will never forget..Really good times. There were so many. 
God Bless you and the family. May you find comfort and healing from our Lord.

I am so saddened at your departure.  Though  we only saw each other at conventions you  were a good friend and you  always made me laugh.   Your love for God and the ministry he gave you is reflected  in the lives you  touched.   I'll  miss your jokes and laughter. Now there will be no one to acknowledge "the Martian" with me.

My entire family was very fond of Bro. Cavazos; his dedication and integrity to the Lord was his priority; he was always ready and available when needed. When mom was in the Nursing home for over a year, he and Sister Angie visited her almost every day.  I am thankful and honored to have been a member of his flock during his Pastor/leadership in Alvin.  Bro. Cavazos is now gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.  Someone so special like Bro. Cavazos can never be forgotten❤️!  Sister, we are here if you need anything!

Hno Cavazos , You were such an amazing person, Christian, Pastor and friend! Your laugh was infectious and your jokes were priceless, you will be missed deeply but we shall see you again soon!

Tio Joel, Thank you for the many laughs we had at the table on Sunday afternoons . I will always remember how we would just laugh and clown on each other for hours .There was never a dull moment . Hmo. Cavazos it was such a pleasure knowing you.  You were always there for our family.  When Abraham was in the Hospital with a Heart Attack he went to the Hospital prayed for him and God healed him.  When Ben Lopez was in the Hospital he was there until he passed away.    When he was the pastor of Templo Jerusalem I had an emergency Dental problem.  I had taken a Metro Bus to my appointment so I had no transportation to drive to the specialist office.  I called Hmo. Cavazos and he was able to drive me to the Specialist and waited, prayed for me until after the surgery and of course thanks to God everything went OK.   A couple of weeks ago he called Elisa and me to check on how we were doing with Covd 19.  I will never forget his last words.  He said that the Covd. 19 was nothing compared to what will come in the future. My memories of you will always remain with me. You are with God now.


Tio Joel, I am saddened that you have left us so suddenly and that I didnt get to see you and hear your laughter like we always did. You were my last surviving uncle and you reminded me so much of my Dad.  I grew up around you and got to see you be a great man of God. You are in heaven now and we will see you again. My family and I had a great love for you. May God comfort Tia Angie and all your family.  Your neice, Carmen Silguero and family

I can’t believe you’re gone. You were supposed to live to be 101. I’m so thankful that I moved near You and Mom five years ago and able to visit you often. I’m grateful when you retired, you came to my church. Your presence and mom’s are what got me through some hard times. Thank you for getting up each day and praying for me and all of your family. You lived by faith, and although you did not receive some of the things you prayed for, you saw them and welcomed them from a distance. I’ll miss your sense of humor, your laughter and your smile. But don’t worry Dad, I’ll sit with Mom at the table. I’ll be silly; I’ll even forget to use a table mat, and leave orange and paper scraps behind in your memory. I’ll miss you and love you for always Daddy. Your firstborn, Dianna ❤️
