Joe John Ortiz, 55, passed away in Houston, TX on February 24, 2021. He was born on March 12, 1965 in Houston, TX. Joe was preceded in death by his father Joe “Chico” Ortiz, is survived by his wife Janie Ortiz; children Maricella Herrera (David); Laura Ortiz; and Jennifer Ortiz; Niece Lulu Carreon & Family, Mother Julia Ortiz; 2 sisters; 2 brothers; grandchildren Jazmin Herrera, Brandon Herrera, Savannah Herrera and Baby David Herrera, and many nieces and nephews. He was also cared for by Nephew Raymond Sabala, who listened with no judgement, helped without entitlement, understood without pretensions, and loved him unconditionally. Joe had a passion for everything and anything to do with cars. If Joe was not mechanically fixing cars, he was painting them. Joe was a man of many trades. When he was not working Joe loved spending time with his wife, daughters, 4 grandchildren, going to church and spending time with his mama. He was known for his infectious smile, his old school style with his Stacy Adams, Guayaberas, and his fine hats. He was always giving a helping hand, he never looked for praises, he was never one to boast, he just went on quietly working for the ones he loved the most. Joe also loved cooking; BBQ was his favorite which accommodated his HUGE appetite.
