Joe R. Martin passed away on February 10, 2011. He was 78. Joe was born on December 28, 1932 in Rotan, Texas to Raymond and Gladys Martin.
Joe graduated from McMurry University in 1954 where he played football. He had a long career in accounting and worked up to his last illness including being employed with Mariner Energy as a joint venture auditor. Joe was a long member of Wilcrest Baptist Church. He loved hunting and most of all playing with the grandchildren and making his family his life.
Joe is preceded in death by his brother, Raymond Martin. He is survived by his loving wife Ruby Martin of 55 years; daughter, Tracy Bryant; son, Todd Martin and wife Pat; grandchildren, Courtney Barnes, Aaron Barnes and wife Natalie, Michelle Martin, Mary Martin and Matt Martin; great granddaughter, Olivia Barnes; sister, Betty Hart and husband Pat.
He will always be remembered for being a loving husband, father and grandfather.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 13, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Memorial Oaks Funeral Home.
