

Jr., Jesse, Daddy, Dad, Brother, Friend, Mijo, Mr. Ruiz, Eddie, Jesse Ruiz, Jr. was all these and more. Born to Janie and Jesse Ruiz, Sr. on March 20, 1962, Jr., as most of us knew him was raised and lived his whole life here in Houston. He and his sisters, Paula and Veronica grew up together in Northeast Houston. Jr. had many life long friends and was always surrounded by his large family. In June, 1981 he married his high school sweetheart, Dixie. They met at MacArthur High School were they both graduated from in 1980. They had two children, Joshua in 1982 and Amelia in 1984. That following year, 1985 he got a surprise sister, Jessika.
After graduating, Jr. started work at AT&T where he worked until the day he left this world. While working for AT&T he did many things he was very proud of, including restoration in Galveston after hurricane Alicia, restoration in Beaumont and surrounding areas after hurricane Rita, and most recently restoration in and around the Houston area after hurricane Ike. He was also very proud of the work he was involved in with the MetroRail. Jr. loved his work.
Jr. was very much a family man and loved being involved with his kids and the community. For eight years he was involved with North Houston American Little League where he did everything from coaching his son to eventually becoming President and running the league. He also umpired at little leagues and high school games. He went to many dance recitals and cheerleading competitions with his daughter. He loved barbqueing for his entire family and spending time with his Mom and Dad, sisters, Uncles, Aunts, Cousins and friends. He enjoyed riding his bike. He enjoyed going to concerts and movies. He loved baseball and he actually played ball for many years on Sundays with friends. Jr. loved to be around people, talking and telling jokes with anyone he met.
Jesse left this world to go be with the Lord on January 11, 2015. He will be missed by all of us who knew and loved him. He was and always will be to each of us, Jesse, Jr., Daddy, Dad, Father, Friend and Mijo. May he rest in peace and may he forever remain in all our hearts.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at 1PM in the Brookside Grand Chapel with interment to follow in Brookside Memorial Park.
