Jerry Gonzalez was born in Corpus Christi Texas, on Friday, January 27, 1967. The 7th born child of 12 total siblings. As a child he was always a joker, getting into all kinds of shenanigans. He was energetic, a wild child, and always the life of the party - even from a young age.
Jerry graduated from Richard King High School, in Corpus Christi 1985, he attended Del Mar College. He was a competitive athlete and excelled in Football, he participated in the famous South Texas Menudo Bowl. He also loved to compete in boxing matches.
In 1990, when Jerry was 23, he walked into an office building and met the love of his life, Sylvia. He knew when he met her she would be his wife. Jerry and Sylvia got married at Gazebo number 8 on Ocean Drive, on the bayfront of Corpus Christi Texas.
Mr. Gonzalez worked as a Self-employed Salesman, a true “Jack of All Trades”. In 1998 Jerry was working the refineries in Corpus Christi, which led to him and the family relocating to Katy, Texas.
Jerry was an avid Dallas Cowboys and Houston Astros Fan, a BBQ pit Master, who loved all types of music. Jerry was vivacious. He was also a great dancer and often competed in dancing competitions. Jerry loved food, he loved eating food, talking about food, cooking food, even watching various food network channels and shows.
Jerry loved and cared for everyone, from the HEB cashiers to the many, many neighbors he’s had. He was a friend to everybody. Jerry enjoyed the company of everyone in his entire family and loved spending time with his nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers and sisters.
Grandpa Jerry was heavily devoted to his five grandchildren and loved them unconditionally. His grandchildren were his world. He often went above and beyond with numerous birthdays and holiday celebrations. He loved all children and children loved him back, he was always so great with the kids.
Without fail, Jerry made sure to call his Dad every single morning, he was known to keep in contact with so many loved ones. He always had stories to share, gave inspirational words of wisdom, advice, and was always willing to help and give a lending hand selflessly.
Jerry was predeceased by his Grandmother Lucy Alaniz; his Mother Gloria Gonzalez; His Tio Joe Alaniz, Tio Robert Alaniz, and Tia Carmen Caldera; His Cousin JD Vela, Cousin Juanito Alaniz, and Cousin John Saldana; And his Niece Irma Villareal and other extended family members.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 33 years, Sylvia Gonzalez; His Son Michael Aguirre and Wife Audrey and three daughter’s, Madison, Averie and Emily; His Daughter Desarea Stallings-Gonzalez and Husband Nathan and two children Mia and Evan; His Father Macario Gonzalez; 11 Brothers and Sisters; Anna Rosas & Husband Joe, Gilbert Campos, Joel Campos, Esmeralda Castillo & Husband Daniel, Gracie Rodriguez, Arnold Campos, Elda Perez & Husband Steve, Myrna Martinez & Husband Pablo, Martha Janjuah & Husband Nasir, Jay Gonzalez & Wife Norma, Rick Gonzalez & Wife Daisy; God- Children Nicholas Gonzalez, Gabriella Malone, Jackie Gonzales; Numerous Nieces and Nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.

This is not a goodbye. As many of you know, Jerry’s faith was strong. He believed in GOD. We know that he is at peace now. Now it's our turn to go live life to the fullest and keep his legacy alive. Please help honor Jerry’s memory by sharing a story with us.
