Jeannine Hamilton Jochec, 88, passed away on November 10, 2020 in Houston, Texas. Jeannine was born in Houston on January 29, 1932 to Mabel and Jim Hamilton. She was a Red Coat at Reagan High School and then attended Sam Houston State College where she was a member of the local sorority, which later became Zeta Tau Alpha.
While attending college, she met her future husband, Ruben. They married in 1951 and were blessed with three sons: Bobby, Stan, and Bill. Jeannine had a thriving professional career with the Greater Houston Dental Society starting in the early 70’s and retiring in 1997. She was their longest standing executive director. She also started the dental society meeting which later became known as star of the south.
Jeannine loved to travel and was active in church. Her church families include Oaks Christian Church for many years along with Memorial Drive Methodist. Jeannine’s other hobbies included bible study, book club, shopping and especially time spent with her friends and family. She loved her pets; notably, her beloved Labrador, Champ, along with her sweet chihuahua, Katy, in her later years.
Unfortunately, Jeannine endured quite a lot of tragedy in her life. Her husband lost his battle with cancer in 1995. Her brother, James Hamilton Jr passed in 1995, as well. Her youngest son, Bill passed away in 1981. Her middle son, Stan, passed in 2011 and her eldest, Bobby, passed away in 2012. Her nephew, James Hamilton III, passed in 1980. Her survivors include her two grandchildren, Sanya Lolly with husband Ryan and William Jochec with wife Christina; and her great grandchildren, Rhett Lolly and Reece Lolly. She is also survived by her niece Julie French with husband Peter, nephew Jack Hamilton, nephew Jay Hamilton with wife Pam, niece Jayne Jochec, sister-in-law Delores Niemeier with husband Wilton and several great nephews and nieces. Jeannine’s passing leaves a huge void in the lives of everyone who knew her, but she leaves behind wonderful memories and a legacy of love and generosity.
