Jan, I can't believe it's been 5 yrs, I miss you so very much!!. I go to the resale shops alone and I feel at times your there with me. We really had some laughs !!   I know you are with God and one day I will see you again. I will be expecting my tea and crumpets, like you promised. Love you Jan... Always !!



Jan was my preceptor when I came to work in NICU in 2005.  She was a wonderful nurse. She taught me to be who I am today. I always look up her as a role model.  I never forget the time that we had fun and laughts in the unit.  I miss you, Jan.

Jan was working evenings on M4SW, when I came to Methodist and we continued working together for many years. She was an excellent nurse and loved the challenging patient. We were so proud of her when she went back to school and became an RN. Most of all she loved her boys and especially the grandchildren. We will miss her.

We were delighted when we met Jan shortly before Jimmy and our daughter, Jennifer, were engaged.  She will be remembered as a beautiful and loving person.  We were honored to be co-sojourners on our grand parenting journey.

My prayers go out to family and friends. I used to work in NICU when she started in 4SW where she worked with my sister, Margaret Diaz. I have good memories of her being a lovely and funny person.  I know she is RIP under the arms of our LORD.

Jan, I feel like I know you even though I never met you.  I have heard many wonderful stories and glowing accounts from your sweet sister in law and friend, Willie.  I even saw you when you were in Amsterdam.  Willie sent me a picture! She probably slipped this to me without your knowing it!  She's like that.
I know you were a wonderful lady, nurse, friend.  To your friends and family....May God's arms embrace you and fill you with His special peace and strength.  And may every day fill you with renewed comfort and an incredible peace that surpasses all human understanding.  God bless you all and may the precious memories of her live on in your hearts forever.  With heartfelt love and deepest sympathy.

 I remember you when I first came to work on Main 4. We had some good times working together and I was disappointed when you transferred to NICU. We got to see each other often and shared photos of our kids and grandkids. I will miss you.

I remember that last day I gave report to Jan, I can still clearly imagine the face and that smile. She told me to excuse her because of her hoarse voice. She is one of those nurses that makes your work easy. She is a good teacher and a good co-worker. It is hard to imagine losing someone you know at work. Much love to your family Jan, we miss you at work. Rest in peace.

Jan was also my preceptor when I was a "baby nurse", as she called me when I was in nursing school. I went to her for NICU advice until the day she left. I remember when we evaluated our peers and I picked Jan because there were so many wonderful things to write about her. Then I was asked to add a "room for improvement" comment. I had to make up something silly regarding fluffing pillows because I just couldn't think of anything negative to write. Although I was not suppose to share my eval with her, Jan and I got a laugh out of it. Jan, I will miss your advice, words of wisdom, kind heart, grandbaby talks, ... and fluffy pillows.

Jan we met at age 23, you became my sister-in-law, my friend and then we called each other sisters. I will have many beautiful memories of the time we spent together. The talks on the phone. Our prayer times together. We even shared a special time you meeting my Aunt in Amsterdam with me. I was there when you got ill and I watched as you left us. I know my sister you are in a better place..No more pain Jan..You will always be in my mind and in my heart. I love you very much!! Thank you for being in my life..

Missing Jan Namink --- her presence in the hall ways, that gentle "Good Morning" voice, the CPR classes she made so easy for me and for all. I remember Jan when she put her bag in the cabinet above the computer and sat in a chair next to me, her easy going receipt of my shift report. Such Humble Spirit. Such Simple Heart. To James and David and other family members,Jan and I worked together for years before she became an R.N. and moved to NICU. Prayers for you and your loved ones. As you know she was a good mother as well as a good nurse.
