Janet and her twin sister Janice were members of the Dobie Lariaettes drill team.
Janet attended Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas where she was a member of the Delta Zeta Sorority. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration degree from The University of Houston in 1979 and began her career in sales.
