Jane Elizabeth Keene was born July 24, 1941 in Monroe, Louisiana the first child of George Franklin Keene and Claire Sutherlin Keene. She grew up in Alexandria, Louisiana, graduated from Louisiana Tech and earned a Master’s degree in Library Science from Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge. Her career led her to Atlanta, Georgia and Houston, Texas. In Houston, Jane was a librarian for a large law firm and continued her career in the legal field and in other pursuits.
Jane was a member of 2nd Baptist Church and enjoyed singing with the church choir for many years. She loved long walks in the park where she often called friends and family to share the beauty and tranquility she enjoyed.
Jane was big sister to George (Cottonwood, AZ), Martha (Shreveport, LA) and Barbara (Ball, LA); loving sister-in-law and aunt to several nieces and nephews. She passed away on November 9, 2022 in Houston, Texas.
Family and friends will all miss her. But now Jane can sing with the angels.
