She was united in holy matrimony to John L. Orndorff on October 29, 1994. They shared the great joy of 6 grandchildren, cats Missy, Callie and a dog named Jubilee.
John and Jan were members of Second Baptist Church, North Campus, and the Happy Days bible study group. As a result of her love for missions, serving others and her generous spirit, she was loved by many. Her Christian life was as beautiful as the flowers that she loved so well and her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her. She quietly departed this life Thursday, July 7, 2016, at home surrounded by her family in Kingwood, TX. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lottie Janiece Kvalheim, a brother, Ronnie A. Kvalheim and her son, Michael E. Frank.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children: Jennifer (Jenny) Bernard and Ron Frank, both of Kingwood, TX; son-in-law, Chris L. Bernard and daughter-in-law, Aurelia M. Frank, also, of Kingwood, TX; six grandchildren, Janiece Bernard, Faith Bernard, Lorelei Frank, Aidan Frank, Maggie Bernard and Autumn Frank; father, Nels C. Kvalheim; brothers, Ken Kvalheim and Nels Kvalheim; aunts, Thelma Chase and Judy Hansen; sister-in-law Ellen Kay Bates and a number of cousins, nieces and nephews.
Jan fought Pulmonary Fibrosis for 14 years. Out of that struggle, she founded the Pulmonary Fibrosis Support Group and the Pulmonary Fibrosis Association, Inc., to educate people on this disease, provide oxygen, necessary medical equipment, medical financial assistance, and support for all patients and their families fighting this terminal disease. The number of lives around the world helped by these two groups is innumerable.
Funeral arrangements are as follows: Viewing at Brookside Funeral Home, Sunday, July 10 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Funeral service, Monday, July 11 at 10:00 a.m. at Second Baptist Church, North Campus. Graveside to follow at Brookside Cemetery. Reception at Second Baptist following graveside services.
