James C. Noonan, 86, went to be with the Lord on July 24, 2010. He was born April 19, 1924 in Kansas City, MO to John L. and Pauline White Noonan. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, the love of his life, Betty S. Noonan. He leaves behind: J. Carter Noonan II, son, and his wife, Nancy K. Noonan, grandson James Carter Noonan III and his wife Lyndsey, and granddaughter Alyssa Nicole Noonan. D. Craig Noonan, son, and his wife Celeste W. Noonan, grandson Jason Michael Noonan, granddaughter Kristan Ashley Schilling and her husband Michael, and great grandson, Austin.
Jim held a BS Degree in Economics from the University of Missouri and was a member of Phi Kappa Psi fraternity. He served in the US Navy during WWII, in the Pacific Campaigns. He and Betty were members of Bethel Church in Houston. He was known for his wit, story telling, and infectious personality. He was driven by his compassion for people and his Christian faith, all of which were evident in his personal relationships, his writings and his poetry.
Friends are invited to visit with family from 6 to 8 PM, Monday, 7-26 at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Frwy. Funeral services: 12:30 PM, Tuesday, 7-27.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to American Bible Society, Mission of the Open Door in Houston, The Star of Hope in Houston, Jews for Jesus or Bethel Ind Presbyterian Church for Missions.
