James Cleveland Johnson, born May 3, 1925, in Grand Prairie, Texas, died on January 4, 2018, in Livingston, Texas. He was the son of Grover Cleveland Johnson and Frances Casey.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Garner Johnson; Son, Michael A. Johnson; Son, Mark A. Johnson and wife Terri and their family; Son, Matthew A. Johnson and wife Stephanie and their family; Daughter, Margaret A. Johnson Hoo and husband David and their family; Daughter, Sharron Stubberfield and husband Chic and their family; Son, Jimmy Johnson and wife Julie and their family; Son-in-law Philip Turner and his daughters.
He had served in the Navy during World War II, surviving the sinking of two ships. He also served in the Air Force during the Korean War and retired after 24 years of Military service. His passions were his military service and fishing.
A funeral service will be held at American Heritage Funeral Home, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston Texas 77038, at 11:00 a.m. on January 10, 2018. Following the service, he will be transported by caisson to the Houston National Cemetery for committal with honors.
